In the Guru Granth Sahib, just after the Alahania composition by Guru Nanak Sahib (1469-1539 CE), four Sabads (Alahania) revealed by Guru Amardas Sahib (1479-1574 CE) have been recorded. No separate title has been given to them, but their subject matter is similar to that of Alahania by Guru Nanak Sahib. For this reason, they are also considered Alahania. It is worth mentioning that the title of this composition is ‘vaḍahansu mahalā 3 mahalā tījā.’ In some of the titles in the Guru Granth Sahib, the numerals next to the term ‘mahalā’ are accompanied by their word form to aid their pronunciation. For example, gūjarī mahalā 3 tījā, vaḍahansu mahalā 3 mahalā tījā, savaīe mahale tīje ke 3, etc. Such titles are not read as ‘tījā-tījā’ (third-th ...
