Most of the
Bani in the Guru Granth Sahib is recorded under prescribed
rags. However, Jap ji (1-8) in the beginning and Saloks and Savaiyas
Salok Sahaskriti, Gatha, Phunhe, Caubole, Salok Bhagat Kabir Jiu Ke, Salok Sekh Farid Ke, Savaiye, Salok Varan Te Vadhik, Mundavani.
(pages 1353-1429) at the end of the Guru Granth Sahib are recorded without any rag. Usually, Saloks and Savaiyas are not composed in rag because of their poetic nature and form. Hence, the composition ‘Caubole’ does not have any prescribed rag.
