Guru Nanak Sahib

This Sabad, revealed by Guru Nanak Sahib, describes a vivid and awe-inspiring ‘Arti’ by juxtaposing the physical Arti performed according to Hindu tradition with nature’s Arti of IkOankar. The entire manifest creation, the sun, moon, stars, air, water, fire, flora, etc., perform Arti perpetually of the transcendent IkOankar. The consciousness (light) of IkOankar alone infuses life in everyone. This shifts the practice from an individualistic context and expands it to the cosmos’ Arti to include all things and beings. This Sabad encourages seekers to transcend individualism and fear to feel the presence of IkOankar.
